I didn’t tell him that I was born in Bariloche, once a Mapuche land, a town known as the Argentine Switzerland. I didn’t say I have Turkish, Syrian, Italian, Spanish and Mestizo blood. I didn’t dare to comment on my Jewish, Roman Catholic, and Hindu religious influences. Nor my overwhelming Eurocentric taste. “And by the way…I am a US citizen”.

Leila A. Leder Kremer is an interdisciplinary artist based in Miami (b. Bariloche, Argentina). She studied Architecture and Industrial Design at the University of Design, Architecture and Urbanism in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1999 she settled in the US where she received her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Goddard College, VT. Important exhibitions include: Dieu Donné, NY, NY; Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, FL; Boca Raton Museum of Art, Boca Raton, FL; Association of Icelandic Visual Artists (SÍM), Reykjavik, Iceland; Miami Art Museum, Miami, FL.
She was the recipient of the South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship for Visual and Media Artists.

Since 2013, Leila Leder Kremer has been working together with artist Juana Meneses as a collaborative duo, their socially engaged practice ranges from curatorial productions, artists’ commissions, participatory art projects and art and design platform. They have created Portable Editions, small self-publishing operation in Miami.
